The Reality Sick of Looking at Your Old, Worn-Out Floor?
Many Sugar Creek homes date back to the refinery boom of the early 1900s, which means the hardwood underfoot has usually seen more than a century of life. Here’s what that often looks like today:
Worn and dated floors
Scratches, fading, or buckling hardwood boards make your home look older than it is.
Bad past installs
Seams that don’t line up, floors that squeak, or finishes that peel after just a year.
Flooring contractor headaches
Missed deadlines, poor communication, and surprise costs that leave you feeling taken advantage of.
Confusion about next steps
Should you repair, refinish, or replace? Most homeowners don’t know what’s best or what it will really cost.
You shouldn’t have to choose between a floor that embarrasses you and a contractor who cuts corners on a house this old. With JRK Flooring, there’s a better way to beautiful hardwood floors in Sugar Creek, MO.

5 out of 5 stars Justin and Brock did a great job of letting us know what to expect and our floors turned out beautiful. I would definitely recommend them to others.
5 out of 5 stars These guys did an incredible job refinishing and staining the floors in our home. Working during the hottest week of the summer and dealing with a broken AC, they were still able to get the job done, an entire first floor refinish, on time, and beat every competitor’s price by a wide margin.
5 out of 5 stars Fantastic job refinishing our hardwood floors! My husband and I didn’t believe they would come out so beautifully as they were so beat up. Justin and Brock were extremely careful and did exactly what they had described, so no surprises. I would highly recommend JRK!
FAQ Hardwood Flooring FAQs for Sugar Creek Homeowners
What does hardwood flooring cost for a Sugar Creek home?
Cost comes down to square footage, the shape your existing boards are in, and whether the job is an install, replacement, or refinish. Sugar Creek has a lot of older homes with original hardwood underneath, so we always inspect in person before quoting a firm, written price.
A lot of Sugar Creek homes are close to 100 years old. Can you work with floors that old?
Yes, older subfloors and narrow-plank oak are common territory for us. We’ll check for moisture, settling, and prior repairs first, then tell you honestly whether a refinish will bring the wood back or whether replacement boards need to be woven in.
How long will my project take?
Most single-room refinishes or installs run about a week; larger whole-home jobs take longer. You’ll get a specific schedule for your home during your free, no-pressure consultation, before you agree to anything.
Is your work guaranteed?
Every installation and refinishing job comes with our 1-year workmanship warranty, so you’re protected after we leave, not just while we’re on site.
What certifications does JRK Flooring hold?
We’re a Certified Bona Craftsman and NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) member with 15+ years of hands-on experience across the Kansas City metro, including Sugar Creek and the rest of Jackson County.
Do you offer financing, and do you serve all of Sugar Creek?
Yes to both. Payment plans are outlined on our Financing page, and Sugar Creek falls within our regular Jackson County service area, along with neighboring Independence and Fairmount.
