FAQ Hardwood Flooring FAQs for Mission Woods Homeowners
Does JRK Flooring work on homes in Mission Woods, KS?
Yes. Mission Woods is one of the smallest cities in Kansas, roughly 200 residents on well under a square mile of wooded land, so we treat every home there as a priority project. We also serve the immediately surrounding communities of Mission Hills and Westwood, since most Mission Woods homeowners consider those neighborhoods part of the same neighborhood.
My lot backs up to trees. Does that change how you approach a hardwood install?
It can. Homes tucked into heavy tree cover, common throughout Mission Woods, often see different humidity and moisture patterns near exterior walls than homes on open lots. We check subfloor moisture levels and acclimate your hardwood on-site before installation so your new floors settle in properly instead of gapping or cupping later.
Can you match the original hardwood in an older Mission Woods or Mission Hills estate home?
Absolutely, it’s one of our specialties. Many homes in this area were built from the 1930s through the 1950s and still have their original oak or walnut flooring. We custom-mix stain on-site to blend new boards seamlessly with existing wood, so repairs and additions look like they were always part of the original floor.
Do you serve the whole Mission Woods area, or just certain streets?
We serve every home in Mission Woods, plus neighboring Mission Hills, Westwood, Fairway, and Roeland Park. Because Mission Woods is so small and residential, most of our work in the immediate area actually comes from these connected Johnson County neighborhoods.
Do you offer financing for Mission Woods flooring projects?
Yes, flexible financing is available for hardwood installation, refinishing, and repair. Visit our Financing page for details, or ask during your free consultation.
Is JRK Flooring licensed and insured to work in Mission Woods?
Yes. We’re a Certified Bona Craftsman and NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Member with 15+ years of experience serving Johnson County, including Mission Woods, Mission Hills, and the surrounding Shawnee Mission area.
